Our Story
Our story started with Costas, a Lecturer in Mathematics and Physical Sciences at a Russell Group University in the UK. Prior to this Costas was at Loughborough University studying for his PhD in Mathematics. His project was in the analysis of hyperbolic partial differential equations. Costas graduated from the University of Warwick with an MMath degree in 2018. He has completed STEP I (1), STEP II (3) and A-level Mathematics (A*), Further Mathematics (A*), Physics (A), Economics (A), Modern Greek (A) and Chemistry AS-level (A) at school, as well as 9 IGCSEs (5 A*s, 3 As, 1 B) providing him with a very diverse and multi-disciplinary background.

He has been teaching students at University for the last five years, delivering lectures and tutorials in the modules Complex Analysis, Analysis 1,2,3, Computing and Numerical Methods, Mathematics 1 and 2 and Scientific Problem Solving.

Costas is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) by completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP).

Over the last 10 years, we have worked with students helping them with university and school work. This accounts for more than 13000 hours of combined teaching experience.

Our passion for teaching started in secondary school, where we were helping our friends with their studies, providing them with an alternative way of learning. This experience taught us that enjoying the subject is key to academic success. Our goal is to make learning enjoyable for our students by connecting their knowledge to real-life applications, ultimately leading to excellent exam results!

Our tutoring experience has shown us that every student has a unique learning profile. We customise each lesson to fit the individual needs and abilities of our students. As young tutors, we can relate well to my students, which is reflected in our engaging teaching methods. We use a variety of techniques, including reviewing notes, working through examples, solving past paper questions, and incorporating mini-games, to make each session enjoyable and effective.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, we have adapted our lessons for online delivery. Utilising Microsoft Teams/Zoom, virtual whiteboards, and detailed notes, we ensure that each lesson is tailored to the student’s needs and goals. This approach has received excellent feedback from our students.
